HEADING: “President Bush again failed to address longstanding concerns regarding US detention policies and practices in the context of the "war on terror", Amnesty International said in response to his comments today.”
QUOTE: President Bush said: "I'm aware of the Amnesty International report, and it's absurd. (…) The United States is a country that promotes freedom around the world. When there's accusations made about certain actions by our people, they're fully investigated in a transparent way."

QUOTE: “(...) wrongheaded ideas for the handling of foreign detainees after Sept. 11 arose from a coterie of White House and Pentagon aides who argued that 'the president of the United States is all-powerful,' and that the Geneva Conventions were irrelevant."

These events are starting to remind me of Starship Troopers - the pseudo fascist state, the nationalism, the infomercials....

MUCH of what has happened since Bush came to power reminds me of Starship Troopers - even the name of the enemy - Arach (Iraq anyone?) nids. Heinlein wrote this in 1959, so it is truly a coincidence. A remarkable one, however.

Seems like some device exists that can twist the fabric of space time. I mean I remember mass murderer Bushs minions claiming that they had broken the back of the insurgency, but now, Iraqi {read as US puppet forces} forces were beginning to take the lead in the battle against the insurgency.
Can somebody please find that machine and set it to the time before Bush and bLiar were born. Thank you.
