According to the update, this is the police's condition for the protest. So what happens if more people turn up? Presumably they call the protest illegal. This will infuriate the demonstrators, and there will be a lot of trouble.
Why should the police limit the numbers in this way. There were 200000 on Saturday, for the same purpose. This is surely an infingement of human rights...

When an old lady gets beaten up there are no police available.
When your house gets burgled No police
When Blair calls The pig styes are empty and every grunter on or off duty responds to the call.
They are stacking up so many enemies and as a child bought up to respect the police I never thought I would hear myself calling them enemies.
